The bold 19-year-old Lily, a midwifery student, struggles with her complicated relationship with her father. During a birth she assists with, she finds herself more focused on the new father than on the newborn baby. Back at her parental home, Lily faces a dilemma: open up and confront her father, risking rejection but possibly gaining what she truly desires, or stay silent, safe but forever wondering what could have been.

This project was my own graduation film, where I collaborated with Lela Claassen on the production design. As a magical realist film, it was also an experiment for us, pushing the boundaries of how style and atmosphere could reflect the story’s subtle blend of reality and magic.
